The Ka-27 is the next logical development from the Ka-25, the Ka-27 was restricted by the previous helicopters' size and spaces onboard current Soviet vessels, but by careful design was able to maximise cargo capacity and range. The use of coaxial rotors removes the need for a tail boom and rotor and drastically reduces the footprint on board vessels. The primary role of the Ka-27 was naval operations, mainly hunter-killer ops and/or SAR, several variants were fitted with a long range folding radar under the belly to increase the fleet's over-the-horizon range. Other variants of the same airframe are the Ka-28 (Export), Ka-29 (military transport), Ka-31 (maritime reconnaissance) and the Ka-32 (civil transport).

Having just bought this airport as a complementary scenery to FSimStudios Tocumen (MPTO) scenery, I must say that my first impressions are quite positive. Although not as detailed maybe as the Tocumen scenery, it nonetheless provides a great addition to Panama City in our simulators. The taxi layout is up-to-date and GSX functions with the scenery without any problems whatsoever. The scenery in and of itself does seem quite realistic and overall well done.

The texture work is quite crisp and the overall immersion feels right. I would definitely recommend this scenery to people wanting to complement the already existing offering from FSimStudios. My only complaint with the scenery, although not directed against the developers, is the airport does not enjoy a lot of traffic in the real world, resulting in quite a spares route network offering for us real route simulating pilots.Overall, however, quite well done, and certainly looking forward to future offerings, especially given that this region of the world does not enjoy a lot of love in the sim community. For the money, this is an excellent scenery package if you're flying a lot around Los Angeles or San Diego. The map provided with the screenshots here is accurate to the coverage area - from Santa Maria in the NW to the Arizona and Mexican borders on the other corner. Note that this is only photoscenery and the associated autogen, not a great deal else in terms of scenery object or airport enhancements. That said, the imagery is well sourced and just looks right in terms of coloration and contrast (from the eye of a SoCal native), and the autogen is plentiful and reasonably accurate, both trees and buildings.

Also comes with built in night lighting and textures.Fr-amerate on my mid-to-high-ran-ge PC isn't terrible when flying around, at least in P3D v4; on approach to LatinVFR KSAN or FSDreamteam KLAX in the PMDG NGX, I see generally 15-20 fps, and pretty consistent 30+ flying over most other areas in the region.Blen-d-masking with the surrounding terrain is reasonable. There are definitely places you'll see the border where it meets default terrain (not least because the border is 3 very long straight lines and the Pacific), but the transition isn't totally abrupt at least. One other note: this scenery is gigantic (right around 40 GB installed), and if loading from an HDD the loading times will be quite long. Definitely put this on an SSD if you can.4.5/5.
