I have been brought a laptop to repair, i need to Install Windows 7 again, But i have noticed there is a BIOS password and the owner has no idea what it is. They set it and forgot what it is. Does anyone have the updated Password generator for the 1D3B Bios.
I can do all the ones upto 595B but cannot find this one anywhere.If anyone needs help with others i am happy to help out.Thanks in advance. I have a quite upset customer who cant use this laptop. I had this problem myself some time ago.First of all, open up the laptop and take a good look if you can find the BIOS chip and there by the reset/clear pin, jumper etcNot all models/brands have these but since this is a relative easy solution I always try it first.If unsuccesfull. Start the laptop, get into the CMOS setup (most of the times F1, F2 or DEL) and guess the password. After three times it should give you a code.

She has been given a Dell Vostro 1700 for free. Except it is locked.
The bios is requesting a password BEFORE you can get to the boot options or setup utility. So it won't boot from a startup disk or from the DVD.I have looked and it seems Dell moved the bios password to a flash chip, and thus pulling the CMOS battery won't work.Does anyone have the Dell program to pull the master password?The Service Tag is FXT1DD1The Error code is FXT1dd1-595BExpress Service Code is 7Model No: PP22XHalp?!?
